Salvia (Sage)
A woody sub-shrub with fragrant, oblong, 2-4" gray-green textured foliage and blue-purple flower spikes that appear in late summer for an extended period. Use Salvia to season meat or poultry, especially pork, bean dishes or flatbeards. It is also used for many medicinal remedies such as nervous conditions, sore throats and gastritis.

| The pointed, ovoid leaves of this herb are slightly hairy and have a strong pineapple scent. If there's a long enough growing season, bright cardinal red flower spikes will be borne in late summer.

| 'Aurea' is grown for both the ornamental qualities of its gray-green and gold foliage as well as its culinary properties. The strongly aromatic leaves have a quilted texture and whorls of lavender blue flowers appear in July.
