![]() Sneak Preview of 2009 Portland Flower Show
Estabrook's is proud to be at the Portland Flower Show again this year! Each year the interior of antique buildings on Portland's eastern waterfront are magically transformed into lush garden spaces. In addition to gardens to delight the senses, there are vendors with a wide variety of items to help get you ready for gardening and puttering around in your yard, as well as lectures that are both informative and fun on a wide variety of topics. The show runs from today to Sunday, with doors opening at 10:00am each day, and is located at the Portland Company Complex. Estabrook's has teamed up with Ron Forest & Sons of Scarborough and Mercier Landscaping of Portland once again to produce our garden entitled "My Marsh View Garden", winner of the Roger Luce Award for best use of new or underused perennials. We invite you to come visit us, browse our garden, learn about our Estabucks and Plan Before You Plant programs, and if you see any plants you like, remember that each one will be auctioned off on Sunday at 5:30pm! 2009 Plant Introductions We're introducing a host of new plants for 2009! From now until spring, we'll be highlighting a great plant coming your way each week.
Rhododendron 'Bubblegum'This plant boasts a dense rounded form and large trusses of bubblegum pink flowers in late April. Small foliage that is deep green with hints of bronze complete the look and will grow a deeper bronze in the winter. 'Bubblegum' makes a great foundation planting, or mass them in the shrub border for an outstanding display of early color that will signal the return of spring! That's just the beginning! Visit our online catalog to see our complete list of new trees and shrubs for 2009. |
