
Perennials to Look Forward to in 2008

This year, we're proud to announce a number of new perennials that we think will provide you with a fresh new look in your garden this spring while offering textural interest and vivid blooms. Among the new selections, I've highlighted a few varieties that I think you'll especially enjoy:

Alyssum 'River of Gold' 'River of Gold' is a very compact and early flowering variety that features bright golden yellow flower clusters in April on mounded plants of silvery-green foliage. |

Astilbe chinensis 'Milk and Honey' The gorgeous, creamy white, fluffy blooms of 'Milk and Honey' turn light pink as they age to create a soft bi-color effect. Deep green clumps of serrated foliage with slight marbling also appears during this plant's youth. |

Paeonia x 'Julia Rose' Huge single to semi-double light red blooms appear from late May to June and mature to orange before finally aging to yellow. A cross between the traditional peony and the tree peony, this plant holds its flowers upright on strong stems. |

Thalictrum x 'Splendide' Large, airy flower trusses of light purple emerge in late May to June. The individual flowers have cream stamens and are carried on red-purple stems over foliage that is light gray-green and resembles maiden hair fern. |
