Meet the breeder
Decades of care. Extraordinary flowers.
Japanese horticulturist Isao Sato has spent decades developing distinctive pansies. After an internship in Colorado in the 1980s, he returned to Japan and devoted himself to creating the remarkable flowers now finding their way into American gardens.
The results range from Antoinette’s soft pastels to Twilight’s deeper colors. Dawn to Dusk, a new introduction for 2027, pairs golden centers with violet and blue edges. Sunshine adds a bright yellow center framed by white petals.
All four are brand new to our selection for spring 2027. Discover a favorite for your spring containers and garden.
